Fall, my favorite season, is slowly pulling into the station. Coats, boots, sweaters, and cool jackets all find their way out of the closet and onto your back as you head out into the new season with changing season confidence. Fall really should be January. It all begins with fall and ends with summer, don't you agree. At least, that's my calendar year. Makeup & Martini's: SUMMER 09’ Beauty Trends

This season, it’s all about the skin, glowing skin. All of the catwalk makeup looks had a clash of bold colors vs neutral nudes. I picked two makeup looks from the runway that I like. With so many great looks, from the red pout to the All-American peachy glow, let me know which makeup style works best for you.

MEMORY LANE: A Few of My Favorite Things Part I

Every year or season there is something new from cars to clothes to even toothpaste, anything to keep consumers on their toes. This made me nostalgic for yesteryear and whether new or came out, dare I say it, 1971, there are somethings that transcend time. And sometimes, there new items that give you that feeling and are destined to be classics. Let me share a few of my favorites, new, old and quite possibly indifferent.

The Android Virtuoso Diamond Swiss Watch makes for a great companion from the golf course to the office, to dinner, for all occasions. And for the finale: Many swear by Stan Smith Adidas, but for me the Rod Laver Adidas with green in mesh is the epitome of the perfect sneaker, kick, tennis, shoe, or whatever you call them. In life we encounter certain items that just speak to our souls, these are few of mine.

As you know I have flirted with the idea to move to Miami beach. As I have been looking at homes I came across many amazing homes. I love this home on North Bay Road that David Solomon has listed. This would be a great place to have many of my Makeup & Martini's events. So for now, I am just going to hope that one day my makeup career will allow me to buy a great home as this one. Touzet Studio have designed another recently built house in Miami Beach, Florida. The modern 12,000 sq. ft, seven bedroom home is located on 100 feet of prime waterfront land overlooking Biscayne Bay.

THE NEW FERRARI - Holy Magnum P.I.

Ferrari releases the veil on it's new ridiculously fantastic Ferrari F458 2010. Not yet officially on the market, but I would start envying now. Even the specs on this spectacular automobile are impressive:

The engine, a 4.5 litre V8, features a racecar-like compression ratio of 12.5:1 and cranks out a huge 425kW at a stratospheric 9000rpm. Torque is similarly eye-widening, with 540Nm being generated at 6000rpm and 80 percent of that figure being available from 3250rpm.

The V8’s substantial grunt is channeled into a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle, which is the sole gearbox option.The result of the bigger V8’s extra power and the new gearbox’s lightning-quick shifts is a 0-100km/h 62mph for us )time of just 3.4 seconds, while the Italia’s top speed is claimed to be in excess of 325km/h (201 mph)

This not your Magnum P.I.'s Ferrari, but after seeing this car I can feel a remake coming on. So, how's my mustache looking?

CONVERSE: Re-Inventing Style

I love reinventing things. I used to paint my Air Jordan's to refresh their look and rock them like they were new. In the late 80's we reinvented everything (it was all hand me downs anyway) and in the 90's we airbrushed jeans. At some point in everyone's life, there will be a reason to reinvent some aspect of your life or who you are. Whether jeans or your car, reinvention is human evolution. How successful you are at it , will be a determining factor in your future life. It's not as ominous as it sounds, but listen. Things change, the world changes, and despite certain nuances, your life will change,so embrace change and understand that all good things must come to an end, but also that through change great ones emerge. With this in mind, my favorite reinvention is Converse. From the iconic Chuck Taylor's being what was left of Converse to the re-emergence, re-energized and reborn, Converse has not only reinvented themselves, they reincarnated a culture of casual grunge classic cool style. From their Converse One Star at Target Stores, to classic Converse to runway Converse by John Varvatos, this is how you make an re-entrance. This is a better comeback than Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man and Tropic Thunder. This is a win win for men, classic vintage style and in fashion. So throw on a some Converse, enjoy the journey and look great doing it.

My new personal makeup gadget this week is Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara. It’s an item that has been getting a lot of buzz, so I decided to splurge on myself.

This mascara has been called revolutionary because of the brush. Jean-Louis Gueret, the creator of mascara brushes for Lancôme decided to try something different after watching makeup artist applying mascara in a zigzag pattern. He came up with a flexible polymer based mascara brush that vibrates at 7,000 micro oscillations per second. The formula conceived with ultrafine particles specifically for the product, which also extends, curls, shapes and makes lashes seem thicker. To get started with this battery powered wand you have to press lightly on the outer tube which turns on a 3 centimeter motor.



My first thoughts… I can only use this item on myself because of sanitary reasons. I do like the outcome, you just have to take your time. It took me 3 coats to get a nice coat. I also have to get used to the brush being a little thinner. I don’t know if I would buy this mascara every month for myself. Let me try it out for a full week and I’ll see if it becomes my favorite.

PRITI Nails on the Runway

During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim five top designers fell in love with ex-model Kim D’Amato all over again. But instead of D’Amato gorgeous face, heads were turning from the great nail colors of PRITI. PRITI in Sanskrit meaning with love, or pleasure sensation has a complete non-toxic nail polish line designed and specifically named after beautiful flowers, and plants that they resemble like; Magic Man Iris, China Pink Tulip, White Ballet Dahlia, and Shirley Temple Peony.
