PEOPLES REVOLUTION: Oliver Peoples 2010 Shades To Live By

Oliver Peoples Sunglasses on Black Tie STiletto

The sunglasses you wear can define who you are and who people think you are. With this in mind, selecting a pair of shades is as important to your image as the shoes you wear, or the scent that adorns you. This subtle accessory speaks to your style, your confidence and your place in the world, and who better to help you enhance your status than Oliver Peoples. His spectacular spectacles define characters and grant stardom. They are not suglasses, they are who I am, who I am going to be, and you better lookout because I am a bad bad man (or woman).

Oliver Peoples has become as renowned for its celebrity collaborations and star studded campaigns as it has for vintage eyewear. In late September, 2009, the brand announced it would be reuniting with highly acclaimed photographer and director Autumn de Wilde to cast another set of influential celebrities to star in their 2010 campaign, whose last cinema ad campaign featured tastemakers Robert Evans and Zooey Deschanel in a short storyline film. So successful was the storyline, sunglass sales of the broadcasted models sky-rocketed over night.

.

Oliver Peoples sunglasses have transcended the accessory category to wardrobe absolute. Things have changed, so welcome to the new world, where people evolve, style is a virtue and the revolution will be televised.

Sex and the City 2:Best Kept Secret 5 carat black diamond ring

When Big captures the heart of Carrie Bradshaw in a final scene of the highly-anticipated Sex and the City 2 film and presents the NYC diva with an eye-popping 5 carat black diamond ring and tells her “because you are not like anyone else,” movie-goers reach for the tissues. But, who could take their eyes off that rock?!

During prep of SATC2, the search was on for black diamond rings. Itay Malkin submitted two rings anonymously and both Parker and writer/director, Michael Patrick King, chose one of Malkin’s designs to be the “ever important ring” in the movie. His unique ring was chosen above twenty other leading name jewelry designers.

Malkin worked in collaboration with Sarah Jessica Parker and world-renown Costume Designer, Patricia Field, on the final design: the 5 carat black diamond ring set in 18 karat white gold surrounded by 80 round natural white pave diamonds equaling 0.35 carats. The Itay Malkin ring is the only piece of jewelry that has been held to secrecy due to its importance in the plot. It will truly be debuted for the first time on the big screen.

The fashion in SATC2 sets global trends, and for “carrie-inspired” women around the world, the ring is quickly becoming a must-have. Itay Malkin will identically produce the ring in a limited edition series retailing at $10,000 each stamped with the limited edition serial number and certificate. The Itay Malkin Sex and the City 2 Ring is available for private sale by contacting Itay Malkin Designs.

Glamxurious Swimwear This Summer

Fresh from co-sponsoring Whiskey Blue New Orleans’ “Sex and the City2” events at the W Hotel last month, and pre-screening of the movie, I like many other women fell in love again with the fashion. So when I return to my second home, Miami, in July for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, I now know I will indulge in my newest fashion fetish sexy flowing Glamxurious tunics, wraps, and cover-ups!
Just recently, I was introduced to the hottest retailers in the Caribbean called All Wet Beachwear. They offer mid to high end specialty swimwear and apparel. The ABW name and reputation are among the most recognized in the swimwear industry in the Caribbean. Owned by Raquel Black, a self-proclaimed swimwear addict, All Wet Beachwear exclusively carries Brazilian designers with suits from Cia Marítima, Poko Pano, RYGY, Despi, Vix, and a host of other luxe designers.

Because I'm a Carrie, I like to refresh my summer wardrobe for different events. From afternoon socials to evening cocktails, they make it easy to be stunning this summer.

Drink Yourself Priti

Beautifying from within, eco-friendly Priti NYC introduces a limited edition
glass water bottle to its nail care line in celebration of Earth Day

Since it’s creation in 2005, Priti NYC has made it its mission to provide women with luxurious beauty products that help protect the environment‐one manicure at a time. This Earth Day, the renowned luxury and eco‐friendly nail polish brand has taken the idea of beautifying to the next level: starting from within. For a limited time, Priti NYC will be selling the Priti glass transportable water bottle in an effort to promote healthy habits for women and sustainability for the planet.

With over 4 billion water bottles ending up in land fills every year, encouraging the use of reusable water bottles seemed necessary for Priti NYC owner and founder, Kim D’Amato. “Our brand is continually finding new and innovative ways to bring the latest trends in nail polish, hand, and foot care to our customers, in the greenest and highest quality way possible”, said D’Amato. “ I loved the idea of taking this concept to the next level by encouraging women to drink more water, in a glamorous way that won’t contribute to the destruction of our environment.”

Made of maximum durability glass, the Priti Glass Water Bottle comes with a protective stainless steel cover that makes it highly unbreakable. It is also 100 % recyclable and indefinitely reusable, creating little impact on the environment. Glass drinking containers ensure a cleanliness that is not possible with plastic, but until now, have not been easily transportable. The bottles will be available for sale for a limited time on the company’s website at www.pritinyc.com for $34.95.

In honor of Earth Day, Priti NYC has also teamed up with d_parture spa™, the renowned airport day spa concept. The spa chain has opened the world’s first and only eco‐friendly airport spa at Newark Liberty International Airport, which utilizes exclusively Priti NYC products for nail and foot care.

Priti NYC’s famous luxury nail polishes are all completely free of toluene, dibutyl phthalate (DHB) and formaldehyde‐ known carcinogenic ingredients used in traditional nail polishes. Other products include a biodegradable soy nail polish remover, bath salts, and sugar scrubs for the hands and feet. The bottles used for packaging are also made of recycled materials and completely recyclable.

Vegas: A Weekend

Skylofts at MGM Grand on Black Tie Stiletto Blog I have avoided Las Vegas for years. The passe' tagline "What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas", the casinos, and the over priced and over hyped nightlife. It all seemed indifferent to me. I was mistaken. A group of us ventured to Las Vegas for a birhtday weekend and to experience. I was blown away. The luxury, the style, and the overall shock and awe is amazing to behold. It is similar to swallowing too much and gasping. We decided if we were going to do Vegas, we will do it properly. We stayed at Skylofts at the MGM Grand (Danke Schoen Miss Sassy for the accommodations). From the valet to the private concierges, butler, and lavish abode, luxury welcomed us with open arms. Two living areas with contemporary L-shaped sofas, plush chairs and coffee table, breakfast nook with espresso machine, kitchen with wine and beverage fridge, theater room with 50" flat screen and free movies on demand. The master bedroom and guest bedroom features spacious walk-in closets, infinity soaker tubs, steam shower and two tvs ( one in the mirror and one over the tub). All controlled from a touch panel or wireless remote controlling everything from drapes, lights, tv, and climate. You can spend a week at the MGM alone and not want for anything from entertainment to eats. When you do venture out to the strip, it is a collage of massive jaw dropping architecture, lights, and endless adventures. All without dropping one coin in a slot machine. Now if gambling is your thing, then of course, you can break the bank at Caesar's Palace or walk the footsteps of the movie "21" and bust at blackjack at Planet Hollywood. Shop yourself into oblivion in the Palazzo at the Venetian or check out a fight at Mandalay Bay. I was impressed, overwhelmed, punch drunk, and enchanted by the city of lights and it's grandness. I usually don't like to admit I'm wrong, but "What happens in Vegas, is Everything".
