Nigerian-American designer Lola Faturoti Fall/Winter 2011collection is called "Ethnic Modernism". Lola created another print-driven, sophisticated collection which seems to be her signature style. For her graphic inspiration, Faturoti looked to the “Op Art” of the 60s era. The strong dynamic of two tone colors - black and ivory, coral and brown, turquoise and brown, in Dots and Link prints- create the palette for the simple and feminine shapes.
Using leather accents, leather fringe, pleating, grosgrain and silk ribbon detail, utilitarian cargo pants, and her bold, custom-designed prints, Lola's collection is the happy marriage of strength and flirty femininity. More tailored than her previous collections, the FW2011 collection in silk twill, chiffon, and jersey creates the perfect blend of casual-luxe staples for every wardrobe.
